Scrapbooking Captures Life’s Moments for Lasting Memories

Jul 4th, 2010 by admin

Life’s pace moves so rapidly. One moment your precious bundle-of-joy delights at the discovery of his or her toes, then in a flash theyre taking their first tentative steps, learning to talk, and using the huge potty. Then your baby is ready for that first day of kindergarten. As you blink back tears and the world comes into focus again, you’re holding onto the dashboard for dear life as your son (who is a foot taller than you now) demonstrates that he needs a few more driving lessons before getting his driver’s license! All too soon, it will be time for graduation and wedding gowns. Then before you know it, your babies are ready to have babies of their own. A photograph can freeze a moment in time for a lasting memory. Scrapbooking can keep those frozen memories alive, those precious life moments you want to always remember.

Scrapbooking has revolutionized the ways in which we can immortalize moments we don’t want to forget. The materials available today for scrapbooking allows you to transform photographs and other sentimental items into vibrant testimonials of the precious life moments you will carry in your heart forever. Years from now you will still be able to experience the feelings you felt as this moment in time came to be.

Baby imprint, handprint, and footprint kits provide you with the materials needed to make a lasting tribute to the blessing that the birth of your child has brought to your life, and as a record of the changes that will happen so quick as your baby grows.

As you hold your baby’s small hand in yours, or marvel at their tiny feet, your heart swells with a depth of like like nothing else ever experienced in this world. A part of you wishes that this moment could last forever, even as you know your child will grow and change every day. You cannot stop life from moving forward, but you can make a lasting impression of this moment with a baby imprint kit.

With a baby imprint kit you can make ink impressions of your baby’s hands and feet and either show them in decorative frames throughout your home, or place them into scrapbooks you make especially to hold the precious memories of your small one. When your children have all grown up-let them take these special mementos with them to remember how much you like them as they go off on their own.

Baby handprint and footprint kits using plaster will allow you to make a cast of your childs hand or foot to document those moments you want to remember. You will be amazed that your childs feet were ever that teeny-tiny. You can buy baby handprint and footprint kits that include special frames to show the casts of your small ones hands and feet, or just hang them on a wall.

To make a treasure your child will cherish for years to come: use these ink and plaster baby handprint and footprint kits to make impressions of your baby’s growing hands and feet and hang them in chronological order on a wall in your child’s room. Use the plaster baby handprint and footprint kits to make impressions your child can touch. And consider using the ink handprint and footprint kits to make impressions you can show to mark special milestones in your babys life as he or she grows. Then every time your child looks at the imprints showed on the wall, they will know how much you like them and how vital the memories of these moments are to you.

Starting your Child?s Scrapbook ? Making Memories Last

May 24th, 2010 by admin

A child’s scrapbook is among the most prized possessions a parent can own. Whether you have only one child, or several, it is likely you will want to capture many of those first time memories forever in an album that will preserve them for many years to come. There are several ways to do this, and you may even consider starting a separate album for different segments of your child’s life. Below are tips that will help you chronicle those precious moments so you can view them over and over again.

Start with a baby book. The baby book will include items such as baby pictures, locks of your baby’s hair, cards you received before and after the birth, and various journal entries made by you, the proud parent. You can start making these entries during your pregnancy as a way to express to your unborn child how pleased you are about his or her impending birth. You can also include when he or she started to walk, talk, and memories of the first birthday.

Start a toddler book. Since most children are quite active during this stage, you will probably accumulate a variety of photos to fill this album. Continue making journal entries that help the pictures tell a tale in such a way that anyone reading it can easily imagine being there. Write down particular words or phrases spoken by your child as a way to preserve the adorable moments that seemingly slip away so quickly.

As your child gets older, construct an album that will include numerous art projects, drawings, and tales your child has made to give it that personal touch. Be sure to photograph vital moments such as graduations, special parties, or any other vital occasions. Encourage your child to become involved in the scrapbooking process by choosing pictures and suggesting thoughts. This will add personality and really make it one-of-a-kind.

Lastly, make a scrapbook chronicling his or her junior high and high school years. Here, include pictures taken at school functions and family events, providing appropriate captions for each. While this part of the process may not be appreciated while it is taking place, it may be something to look back on when your children have offspring of their own.

Present your child with these albums at a time you deem appropriate. If he or she has taken an active part in the process over the years, it is likely these albums will have been viewed many times, and may be a requested keepsake. If you wish to keep copies of these albums, consider duplicating each album as it is made. After all, your child isn’t the only one who will wish to look back on all the special times.

Scrapbooking your Christmas Memories

May 15th, 2010 by admin

Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays in America, and is full of many fun-filled memories and traditions. There are many ways to document the various events of the season, and Christmas scrapbooking provides one of the simplest and most convenient means for doing this. From a variety of tasty foods to the glorious decorations, there’s something special and unique about every experience that can be chronicled in an album for many years to come.

The first step to preserving your precious memories for a Christmas scrapbook show is to gather your favorite photos that will help illustrate your family’s tale and give those viewing your album a excellent sense of who you are. You can start by focusing only on one year, including pictures from a collage of holiday-related days or special events. If you wish to cover a longer period of time, organize your photos in chronological order so the tale told by your scrapbook will be sequential.

Include pictures of your entire family, and encourage everyone to become involved. This is a fantastic way to spend time together while taking part in a meaningful project.

Choose Christmas scrapbooking paper and embellishments that enhance your photographs, and arrange them in a way that looks festive. Prepackaged scrapbooking kits are available for a variety of occasions, and Christmas is certainly among them. These kits come complete with coordinating papers to match a wide variety of holiday themes, 3-D stickers, self-adhesive borders, frames, tags, photo corners, and embellishments. Other unique items such as your child’s artwork, hand-made Christmas ornaments, and addition holiday memorabilia can be added to make the album truly your own.

When choosing a layout for your pages, take care to arrange each item so that it compliments another and places proper accent on vital items. Start by contrasting colors, mixing solid paper designs with others that are patterned, and accentuating pictures with colorful borders. You can make your layout by scratch, or adopt thoughts found in scrapbooking magazines or online sources. It may also be helpful to consult with fellow Christmas scrapbooking enthusiasts to obtain their opinions and tips.

Select ribbon, rub-ons, and markers to add the finishing touches to your holiday memory masterpiece. Don’t limit yourself to the items that came in your kit. Look around the house for items to serve as add-ons to complete the pages and make it a truly personal experience for your Christmas scrapbooking project.

May 11th, 2010 by admin

Our personal memories are precious treasures. They recall laughter and tears. They allow us to relive the most vital events in our lives. Be they excellent or terrible, they belong to us and are part of who we area.
You can’t place a value on memories. You can’t buy back excellent times, and you can’t pay someone to make terrible times disappear. Childhood memories, pleased celebrations, and past wild times and the stuff that formed our personalities. Many people want to document those memories and share them with loved ones and friends.
There are many ways to collect, store, and recall our memories. Modern technology has made it possible to preserve those times in electronic formats that don’t have to be packed, can’t be lost, and never age or deteriorate. Memories last a lifetime, but they fade when stored in the human mind.
Today, people use a variety of things to capture these future memories while they are happening: photographs, video recordings, audio tapes, and correspondence are just a few examples. Photo albums have been well loved since the first camera was invented, and they’re still a favorite choice for keeping memories close to the heart. But now, there are many additional choices that a photo album can’t contain.
Scrapbooks are a well loved way to gather memories in different formats into one spot and preserve them. They have the advantage over photo albums of being a fantastic way to make an artistic theme and add a very personal touch to your memory bank. Scrapbooks are more fascinating and more entertaining that the traditional photo album. But even scrapbooks get lost or hurt.
When you make a scrapbook, you combine your treasured photos with other reminders like tickets, letters, and other reminders and frame them with color, design, and style. You can include memorabilia, tales, quotes, and testimonials in your scrapbook. And embellishments like buttons, beads, locks of hair, lace, ribbons, and yarn add variety and interest as well as memories to your scrapbook.
From the 1990s on, scrapbookers have applied scientific techniques to help preserve photos and memorabilia. Not only have photographs become more durable, but preservation techniques are more effective. You don’t have to settle for faded photos with that ancient-fashioned yellow tint. Modern science and technology has made it possible to greatly increase the life of photographs and other materials.
Now, modern scrapbooking is a million-dollar industry, and new products and tools are constantly being released to help make the job simpler and the scrapbook more appealing. And the Internet is not missing a beat. Hundreds of scrapbooking sites have sprung up across the web, offering tips and techniques, advice, and supplies and materials to web users. Many of these sites offer free help and information, so you don’t have to trek to the bookstore for reference materials.
The advent of digital media has made Internet scrapbooking simpler than ever! Software that allows you edit digital materials and transfer photos allows even greater creativity. The combined technologies of digital media, software, and the Internet have made a whole new type of scrapbooking. And because the materials can be stored on the web indefinitely, we now have the ability to make “permanent” scrapbooks that can’t get lost and can’t get hurt.
The Internet makes it simple and convenient to gather, share, and preserve photographs and video recordings. It also ensured that the scrapbook is easily accessible to anyone on the Internet. No matter what time of day or night, and no matter where a person is, they can get to their electronic scrapbook and cruise memory lane as quick as electricity and broadband will allow.
Now, you can replay that video of Uncle Bob’s birthday, your grandparents’ golden wedding anniversary, or small Suzy’s entrance into this world as many times as you want. And you can do it at the same time as others. You can collect, store, and preserve these memories as long as you are willing to pay the often-nominal web hosting fee. You can even use a free service to house your scrapbook.
You can choose to scrapbook in the ancient-fashioned way and have fantastic fun letting your creative juices flow to make an fascinating, artistic permanent paper record of the vital times in your life. You can also choose to apply your computer skills and electronic media and let technology help you make a permanent electronic record of those same times.
Whatever approach you want to use is available, affordable, and simple to do. You can make a paper version of your scrapbook as an heirloom for your home and family, and you can add an electronic version to the Internet so that other family members and friends can delight in your creativity at any time. And if your paper version ever gets lost or ruined, you’ll have the electronic version as a fantastic insurance policy!
